  1. Hi, we just bought a 13 x 25 semi-inground wood pool equiped with a heat pump and a salt chlorine generator. In reading through the Salt system guide, they indicate that the system runs whenver the pump runs, and they recommend this to be anywhere from 6 to 8 hours a day. The heatpump however typically provides its best effenciency if it works all the time, and has its own thermostat to properly control the water temperature. How should a system like this be properly plumbed and configured? Thanks.
  2. Hello, For the past year or so I have been using beach and Sodium Dichlor with my CYA level at about 40, and everything has been working great! I'm looking at switching back to Lithium though, for other reasons.... although I have saved some money by purchasing bleach (Chlorox) instead of Lithium, I have as a consequence, ruined several pieces of clothing by spilling drips of bleach on them during one of the many trips out to the spa for maintenance. Therefore, sticking with bleach hasn't really saved me any money in the long term. My question is though, if I go back to using Lithium, should I still starup with Sodium Dichlor after a fresh fill to maintain a CYA level of 30-40? or is this not nesessary with Lithium? Thanks for you help.
  3. Hi, I bought a Taylor K-2006 test kit about a year ago from the US, and I`ve now run out of the following reagents : R-0871, R-0004 and R-0870. Does anyone have any ideas where I can buy these in Canada? (shipping from the US doesn't make sense on such small items. Thanks,
  4. Hi, I just bought a used 21ft above ground pool, and I'm preparing the site for installation. The pool will be located about 3 feet away from a shed I have in the yard, where I would like to install the pool pump and filter. There is currently a dedicated 15amp circuit in the house providing electricity for a couple lights out in the shed. Can I simply install a GFI outlet in the shed and connect my pump, or do I really need to run another dedicated circuit just for the pump? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Question for any Sundanace owners out there. I just bot my 2007 Sundance Optima, and I'm a bit confused on how the filtration cycles work. After reading the manual it seem like that by default the circ pump comes on at 12:00 for a 24hr cycle (so I suppose its always running). It also states in the manual that there are four filter cycles pre programmed at 12:00 6:00 12:00pm and 6:00pm. Would this mean that at those 4 cycles that the main jets/pumps also come on for a period of time?? Thanks.
  6. This forum is great!! I've read so many posts here before deciding on buying my spa - finally went with the Sundance Optima - very happy! Also saved a ton of money by preparing the conrete slab myself. Question I have is regarding Lithium and shock. The dealer who I purchased the spa from supplied me with a fairly large 2kg (lbs??) container of lithium. I use my spa mostly at night, and it is always covered it the day. Is there any benefit (besides $$ savings) of using sodium hypochlorite as my weekly shock instead of using lithium?? Also will using lithium alone increase my CYA levels? Thanks.
