  1. My hotspot rythym has raised footwell and foot jets and I personally enjoy the feature.
  2. Seems a bit high for a 10 year old spa in my opinion. Have any pictures and specs?
  3. Take a look a Hotspot Rythym...less money, known name and manufacturer. Lacks speakers but speakers on a ht are kind of dumb anyway.
  4. Test the heater, they either work or not...a simple continuity test will tell you 8f its failed...pressure switch should only be a few bucks.
  5. When heater is on pressure switch is normally closed, when off it is open. Have you checked continuity? You can jumper the 2 wire and check to see of heater comes on. If heater ran with no water it would melt switch.
  6. You can order them by size here http://www.spadepot.com/shop/Filter-Cartridges-C31.aspx
  7. Concrete on a poor base is just as bad as pavers, gravel or any other product is on a sinking base but like a poster mentioned, releveling a single paver is much easier to fix. My house slab is concrete...it settled and cracked...its .5" lower then the concrete next to it and its reinforced concrete. There are 2 types of concrete, those that are cracked and those that will crack.
  8. Interesting. That contradicts everything I've ever been told in person (by various service techs and salespeople in stores all of whom claim to have been in the industry for years) and researched online. But if your brand new tub really can be set to 106 with just an emphatic button press rather than a major electronic hacking, then good for you. I'm envious. I'll snap a photo tonight of the control panel reading 106 and post to forum. From 104 to 106 is not something that you could mistakenly do, it requires long presses to achieve.
  9. When concrete settles it cracks.
  10. It's a 2014..just got it about a month ago, it just requires 2 additional long presses after 104 to get to 106.
  11. I used 4x8x16" concrete blocks for my base on hard ga red clay , put a heavy plastic vapor barrier down and called it a day. Would I use sand...no, it washes. Pea gravel...yes. fyi, 2-3 days and you can drive a car on concrete driveway, a ht should be no different...in fact, the pounds per sq ft of a ht would be less then a mid size car.
  12. I own a Hot Spot Rythym and I couldnt be happier. At $5200 out the door I feel that it was a reasonable deal and it suits our family very well. It has led color changing lights, water fall, seats 7 and has more than enough jets for me. Out of the box it will heat to 106 with no modifications and will even heat 5 degrees in 2 hours with pumps running and cover on and heater off. Insulation seems very adequate as it takes 2 days for the temp to drop 2 degrees from set point. My spa gets about 6 hours of sun. Cons...ive had some of the smaller jet covers fall off which is an easy fix either by me or the tech since its under warranty. An o-ring on jet bottom fixes problem or a dab of silicone under jet cover. I dont feel I should have to fix, but its not a deal breaker for me...it should have been addressed prior to my pickup though. I looked at some cheaper spas but felt the hot spot which is made by Watkins was a very solid unit. Fit and finish is very good with the exceptions of the smallers jets...would I purchase another one, sure would...no hesitation.
  13. Have been reading forum but decided to join to share this info. Just tested this last night and the max temp that can be overridden via control paney by holding temp up button after max temp is set at 104 until you see it change to 105, holding again from that point will allow it to be set to 106. These two temps will have a foashing "f" indicating that the max temp of 104 has been overridden.
