About 3 weeks ago, we opened our Saratoga Spa Adirondack tub, circa 2002, to discover the water level to be less than half full. There has never been an indication of a leak before. We bought it used about 6 years ago and have not had any problems except for a pump that went bad last year and was replaced. Our village has hard water. We had to go out of town, so we left it as is for a couple of weeks. When we came home, we started researching how to diagnose and repair leaks, and two nights ago, decided to start trouble-shooting. We took the front and back sides off (reluctant to remove the left and right sides because that would mean removing the lifter and the wood there has already been compromised). We spotted one piece of PVC piping connected to one of the pumps in the front that looked like it had some white, flaky calcification, so we expected to see the leak coming from there. We filled the tub and sat back, and waited to see the water coming out. And waited. And waited. It's not leaking. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? Is it possible some minerals in the water self-repaired the leak? Are there any other possible explanations? We'd be thrilled if there's not actually a leak, but what happened to 200 gallons of water 3 weeks ago?
