  1. Hi all! We've recently bought a Hawaii airjet Lay-Z-Spa and for the life of me i cannot get my head around keeping the water clear! After around 5-7 days of use we are dealing with very cloudy, almost teal coloured water and i'm getting vastly different readings on my strip tests. Bought a clear water starter kit and the dip tests in there give me a High PH level reading, but a second set i bought from B&Q which are a 6 in 1 test show the PH to be very low. I'm cleaning the filter out often and we've tried shocking the water with chlorine but the water is still murky, there's no funky smell like its not clean, its just not so nice to look at i guess and i'm positive there's something up that i can't quite figure out! Any tips on resolving cloudy water and also avoiding it in the future? I really don't want to resort to refilling every week! Thanks J
  2. I've got a lay z spa (Miami) and have been having problems with cloudy water and rough sides. I treated it with scale inhibitor and all of the limescale came off the sides but the clouding got worse which I assume was caused by the lime scale in the water. Tried lots of things, spent hours researching on the internet. I then decided to shock it with chlorine. Did it once and after 24 hours there was quite an improvement so I did it again. After another 24 hours the water was crystal clear. I then made a big mistake. I checked the levels and noticed the PH was low so I added PH plus. Water went cloudy again. I have just removed the filter after 48 hours and in the photos you will see what I found. What the hell is it? If you pick it up and rub it between your fingers it just dissolves into milky water.
  3. Have a Marquis Epic hot tub, with in line Bromine and mineral cartridge. Water is couple months old and is adjusted to this: Br usually runs 3-5 PPM Have initial bromide bank at fill and add about spoon full or two of bleach after each use. 50 PPM of broates from Gentla spa New clean filters every month and new BR cartridge every month CH in 170 - 190 range TA runs 60-80 PH usually 7.0 -7.4 Dump 2-4 oz shock, posassum monoperasulfate stuff in every week or so tub runs 2 hr every day in auto cleaning cycle and then 2 hrs, 1/2 hr after each use ( probably important with no use ) Now the problem, normally water is crystal for months and months, we typically use it every day or every other, but if we are gone for a few days 3-4 and tub does not get used, we come home to cloudy water. This is 3rd time this has happened. Clean it up once, dumped 3 mo old water another as unable to get it clear again. Any suggestions as to what to do to prevent this with our occasional travels. Thanks in advance
