  1. My 3/4 HP booster pump is very loud and needs to be replaced. I just added a brand new variable speed main pump. Watching my main pump running it provides enough pressure that my pool sweep has some movement out of it (pressure through the non-running booster pump line). When my booster operates, there is a lot of water escaping through the overpressure valve on the sweep hose. This all seems to tell me that I have more than enough pressure from my main pump to run my sweep (with no booster pump) if I can direct more of my main pump flow to the sweep. So I'll need to install a 3 way valve to direct more water to the sweep and less to the normal discharge when I need the sweep working. It seems that I'd want to place this valve after my solar system. The piping arangement would work best to put it before my salt generator. The end state I am hoping for is no more booster pump thereby saving the purchase of new booster pump and its energy forever. Anyone have any experience with this issue?
