I'm putting in a small pool (11,000 Gal) and have 2" pipe for skimmer and 2 returns. ( I realize this might be overkill at this point)
By my calculations a 1/2 HP pump is sufficient for my needs. We are in Canada and single speed pumps are allowed. I cannot seem to find any 1/2 HP single speed pumps that have 2" connections -- they're all 1.5"
Do I just down size my piping, filters, heater, and pump to 1.5" in the mechanical area, and keep things cheap and simple, or should I really be forcing myself to look at these new multi speed expensive pumps to get to 2" connections to keep my pressure head down.
