  1. leaving the band on will help keep the pleats seperated so the filter gets even flow. it helps but its not needed.

We have had our Lotus Bay for one week, so it is time to clean the filters. We bought two extra so we could switch out. Do you leave the thin paper band on the filter? It looks like it would be easier to clean deep down if the band was removed. I have not taken the band off for fear that it would be the wrong thing. Please tell me what to do.

    Thank you,

    Pam

  2. well i would have to disagree with that . the foam is not just for inslation it is also suport for the plumbing. imagein a 4 ft 3" pipe with water in it it is heavy. aslo imaging water pulsing on and off. and the fact that chemicals will dry out the plumbing. it will break down much faster then a full foam spa would.

Had a meeting with the Thermo Spa rep and was impressed with the features and the quality of the spas. Have heard they are over priced and just moderate tubs. I have seen some test results of comparisons of energy costs and these spas are competitive and beating out some top names for energy efficiency. I like the idea of the non foam filled spa for the simple ability to fix or repair tub without the inconvenience of removing the foam. The actual shell thickness is much thicker than foam filled tubs annd supports the tub even with all sides removed. I would like to hear of any input from others positive or negative.

  3. I am pool and spa dealer and would like to say that the chemicals are the same from pool and spa. But you do wana stay away from knock off cheap chemicals due to there is alot of garbage fillers in there that ten to add cloudyness...

I stopped by my tub dealer today to pick up some non clorine Shock (MPS) and some PH up.

He was busy talking to another customer so I looked around by myself for a while.

I noticed a product called PH up which is Sodium carbonate in the hot tub chemical section for $7.50 for 2.5 lbs. In the Pool chemical section I saw a "Pool" PH up for$5.50 for 5 lbs(also Sodium Carbonate).

The only difference I could see between ingredients on the bottles is that the tub chemical may have been slightly more finely ground. I saw a similar price difference on the MPS non clorine shock. I bought the cheaper "pool" product. I am curious what others feel about this or if you have noticed it. Is there anything wrong with using Pool Products in Hot tubs if they are the same chemical substance?

The filter cleaner (soak) products they sell there did not have an actual ingredient listed. It just said it was an alkaline product. Is there a cheeper alternative that works as well?

  4. Well i Would have to say to do this right you would have to pull liner out and weld a wall plate in. I never hered of some one cutting a wall for a plumbing leak. Our you could fill hole in with porland cement then make sure you have wall faom between wall and liner . i know some companys dont use wall foam pad . But good luck with that one hope this helps!

    and hopethis helps

Two years ago a local builder cut into my walls to fix plumbing. He didn't do a very good patch job on the licence plate size holes. You can feel the patch through the liner and it is obviously letting ground water and dirt seep behind the liner. He is no longer in business and I wouldn't call him if he was. How can I as a homeowner fix this the right way?
