Remove the faceplate (bezel) of the controller and see. The button is just plastic in a plastic cover. The actual electronics are behind it.

Thanks, RDspaguy.  I removed the faceplate and then the button.  There is a mechanical spring that seems to have gotten out of form.  I tried my best to recoil it, but it is not ideal.  I did reinstall it though and at least it is not intermittently setting off the jet.  Is there a place to get replacement springs?  Also, while I'm at it, is there a way to either repair or replace the control panel plexi that goes over the readout?  As you can see from the pic, mine has gotten so that it is difficult to read through.

  2. Yesterday my daughter and a couple of friends were in the hot tub.  I'm guessing they were mashing on the jet buttons.  Regardless, the JET1 button now is stuck and doesn't have the same action as the other buttons.  You can see a bit in the attached pic that the button is pressed in more than the others.  It feels like it is stuck in the pressed position and there is no "spring" to the button.  Not a huge deal but now the jet goes on and off intermittently on its own and I've been forced to cut the power.

Anyone know how to get this to unstick?  I tried using a thin piece of plastic to pull the button out and a little WD40 (with the power off) but those things didn't work.  Can pop the button out and pop it back in easily?   Is there a way to get the controller out so that I can see what is going on?

    Thanks for any help!

  3. I'm trying to heat up my Endless Pool that is equipped with a 5Kw Spa-Pak Heater (ELS 552-2).  The thermostat light comes on and everything seems fine but it doesn't seem like it is working as well as it normally has.  In more than a day, it has just raised the temperature from 68 to 75 degrees.  I'm trying to figure out if it is working at all or if just running through the pool pump is raising the temperature.  I've tried hitting the hi-limit reset switch button and throwing the circuit breaker.  I also put my hand on it but can't feel any heat.  Any advice on how I can trouble shoot further?  Is it likely the heating element?

The manual is here: https://www.parts4heating.com/v/vspfiles/images/pdfs/ELS552-1102.pdf but doesn't provide much guidance.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Thanks!  I'm cleaning the filters and have added some water to the spa.   Would having the water feature turned on impact flow?  I have been unable to turn off the water feature that creates the sound of running water (it basically creates a very small waterfall) because the features nob is stuck in the on position..

  5. Thanks but I don't think it is the module.  The whole thing turns correctly when not in the tub (when I have it in my hand), but once I put it in the spa it won't budge, not even with pliers.  I'm not sure how this thing is supposed to operate.  I may take it out of the spa and bring it to my HotSprings dealer to see if they have any ideas.  Or maybe it isn't a big deal if I just keep the feature running?  I'm not sure if it is cooling the water by operating.

  6. My 2006 Hot Springs Grandee (Model G - G1F1488) spa has stopped heating and I've tried to troubleshoot to no avail.  Here are the symptoms:

    (1) it doesn't heat (or if it is it is very slowly).  Temp has dropped from 102 to 96.

    (2) when I turn on/off the breakers I get it cycling through trying to turn on and flashing red light.  Occasionally this turns into a red/green light flash.

    (3) I removed the gray stack filter and poured water in, then reset again, and this time it fully restarted BUT still not heating

I pulled the panel and see that the controls are not blackened.  I replaced the smaller board a year or two ago.  HTR on is red and LM ok is green.

The No-Fault Heater feels warm to the touch, but not burning hot.

Also, I see no bubbles coming from the bottom of the spa.

What should I be checking at this point?  Should I check the heater?  How would I voltage check it?

    Thanks for any input.

  7. I played around with the module a little more.  The square stem will swivel when it is not seated in the spa.  However, once I put it in the spa, it will not move at all.  Also,it will only seat one way.  It would seem that turning the module then changes the water flow, turning off the waterflow feature.   I'm not sure if another module will fix this as I would think it would run into the same problem of not being able to turn once seated.  Anyone else have any other thoughts?

  8. I have Hot Springs Grandee purchased around 2006.  The spa has a water feature lever, which basically controls a feature that creates the sound of running water.  I don't remember ever using this feature.  Today, while cleaning the spa, I turned the lever to on.  When I tried to turn it back, however, it wouldn't turn at all.  I can unscrew the entire module from the hot tub, but that doesn't fix the problem -- water keeps flowing.  I took off the plastic lever and tried turning the plastic stem with a pair of pliers but I get no movement that way either and the plastic stem looks like it will break if I turn too much.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this?  In the alternative, is there any downside to just keeping it running?

    Thanks!

  9. I noticed yesterday that my Grandee was not heating properly and that the temperature had fallen to 92 degrees. I have no blinking lights on the outside panel, can adjust temp and the jets function. I also have bubbles coming up from the bottom of the tub. I tried: (1) rinsing off the filters (I have the rinse formula on order to give it a real soaking but I figured I would try just rinsing); (2) raising the water level -- which promptly lowered the temp to 85; and (3) turning off power, waiting 20 minutes and then turning it back on. None of those worked. Today, seeing some people say they had success by hitting some reset button on the heater inside the panel, I opened up the panel to do the same. I never found a reset panel on the NoFault heater. What I did find was that there was a GREEN light for LIM OK but a RED light for HTR on. I assume this confirms my heat isn't functioning. I also found that when I turned the pumps on that a red light went on at point D19 (see pics below).

Meanwhile, the temp on the tub continues to drop so I need to get this resolved ASAP. Can anyone tell me if there is anything easy I can do to fix this problem? Or, if not, what I should tell the service person to focus them in? Where would I find the reset switch for the heater?

    Thanks in advance!
