We've never had a pool so we are seeking advice on inground pools. We live in Indiana. We are looking at "sport pool". Any does or donts? Vinyl vs fiberglass? Vermiculite vs Sand vs ???? Don't mind spending extra up front to save down the road. in the area we believe we'd like to put table and chairs is 14ft wide enough along the long side of the pool. Since its retangle we figured we put 14 ft on one long and one short side and then like 6 ft along the other long and short side (with auto pool cover).
Saline vs Chlorine?
Or should we just use the neighbors pool??
Thanks.
I put in a 20 x 40 in ground pool in AZ and upgraded to the DE filter system and salt system; they worked great. Also put in the in ground cleaning system which saved me a lot of cleaning time. The in ground pool will add more to property values which is good in the long run. Have fun!!

I have a 2ooft backwash hose I thought I would put holes in it and water the grass.
When I lived in AZ I had a 20x 40 pool put in and it had a salt system and a DE filter. I would use the back flush water all the time on the front yard and it never hurt the grass or trees.

Can someone talk about the new salt water systems that have been getting alot of hype as of late.
On the surface they seem complicated and more of a hassle! But it seems like people in the industry are really excited about it and talk about it being great!
I would like to know what it means to me as a consumer - easy of use - cost - initial set up.....
If buying new - would you be a fool not to go this route!
Thanks
I have an Arctic Klondiker and got the Onzen system. I had a 30,000 gallon pool in AZ and put a salt system in when we had the pool built. It worked fantastic. I've had the Klondiker for a year now and the Onzen system went out. I just had it replaced. I will say, when it was working it was very nice. No chlorine smell is the best.

Hey Guys,
Got a quick question on Bromine. I have my CP level on 6, when testing my water it does not show any bromine at all. Of course, after I add my refresh and I check it 1/2 hour after it shows low levels.
Should the bromine level always be visable if I don't add refresh?
I ask a Arctic Rep about this and will get back to me, but would like all you pro's opinion.
Thanks
I was having the same issue. I drained the spa and then put in 6 pounds of salt (they now recommend 3 for my Klondiker) and after a day I wasn't getting any reading. I put in refresh and it was fine. Contacted the service dept and a tech came out and discovered that half of the Onzen blades weren't producing anything. Replaced it with an updated Onzen and it works fine now.

Hydropool 725 self cleaning and Arctic Yukon
I've had the Klondiker for a year and didn't have a problem until this month. My Onzen system went out so I contacted the service department and someone was out here within the week. While he was here, he also found that low speed on pump #1 had failed. He said it was a common problem on the the first generation Italian (I think they are from Italy) pumps because on low speed, there wasn't enough air circulation to cool the motor. Luckily he had a pump (newer model) on his van. So in response to your question, I have been very satisfied with Arctic Spas. I get a lot of support from my dealer and was very impressed with the tech that came to my house.

how good is the sound and is it worth the extra to have in the arctic spas? how hard is it to hook up an i pod or a stereo system to it?? would one need an outside speaker if we had this system?
I've had my tub for a year and it has the aquatremor system. I must say it absolutely 'rocks'. It's amazing how good it sounds even though the speakers are inside the tub. My only trouble with it was my kids forgot to remove the plug out of the tub and shut the lid. Now I have to wiggle the jack to get rid of the hum. I wonder how much that little mistake will cost to fix?
All in all, if I were to get another tub, I would definitely get it again!

Hello,
You can download the latest onzen guide from our website. Here is a link to the download section.

Kind regards,

James, when I bought my Klondiker last year they told me to put in between 5 and 8 pounds of salt (not exact), but the new literature says 3 pounds?? What's changed?

I am looking at buying a Artic Spa. Either the Summit Signature or the Klondiker Signature. If anyone can give me some input on if these are a good Hot Tub that will last and also what would be a fair price. Local Dealer is giving me a price of $8600 befor tax. Thanks
I bought the Klondiker last year and love it. I got the Onzen system, northern lights, and the Aqua Tremor system. When you play the IPOD on this it actually 'Rocks'. The only manufacture related problem I've had is one of my headrest cushions cracked down the middle. I see that they have now changed those slide in head cushions to a permanent mount system that slides up and down. Wish mine had that! As far as the Aqua Tremor system; monitor your kids. They love the music and forgot to take the plug out and then closed the cover; now I have to manipulate the plug so I don't get a hum sound.

Great tool!! I've been trying to find something like it. Thanks!! Anyone know if the black looks good at night with the lights on?
I have the black and it looks good. The lights are still bright even with the black. I think you will like it.

On my pool, I had a two valves; one going to the in ground cleaning system on the pool and another on the backwash pipe. I had to turn the valve off going to the pool and open the back wash side. There should be a 2 inch (or so) pipe and then the blue hose connects to that. When I turned the pump on the water would then flow out the blue hose. Keep it going until the water is clear.
