  1. That is a great site. I'm sure I will find something there. Thanks, Rich
  2. Man, with every picture, your set-up impresses me more. I love the deck and stair lights, but I put down a concrete patio for my tub so I guess they are out of the question. I am thinking about attaching low voltage lights to the side of the tub. (The round surface mount kind with a 7 watt downlight) but I am having trouble figuring out how to hide the low voltage wire that would have to travel down the cabinet then under the skirt. The skirt is so tightly fitted under the spa lip, there is no way of hiding the wires that way. Any ideas out there?
  3. Spa Guy: Although Paint's post is now gone, I don't beleive he was entirely right. As I found out with HotSpring, whether shimming voids the warranty depends on the model and the manufacturer's guidelines. I guess a good rule of thumb is to check with the manufacturer concerning the specific spa your interested in.
  4. Hey Club. I just got my new Envoy and was also unimpressed with the exterior lighting package they offered. Where did you find the LED lighting for the surround you mention in your post? (Not that you needed any other lights for your set-up....what a view!) It would be great if you could throw me a link for your lights or let me know where you found them. Thanks, Rich
  5. I understand that Spa User Guy is talking about building a base rather than shimming the tub, so "shimming" really doesn't apply to his idea. However, in deciding which new HotSpring tub to buy, I was concerned with the ability to shim in that my patio has a slight drainage slant to it. I learned that almost all HotSpring tubs can be shimmed except the Vista and Grandee (500 gal), which are HotSpring's biggest models. The Envoy is the largest tub (450 gal) that can be shimmed according to the manufacturer.
  6. Dang! All I've got around my spa are trees. I want a skyscraper! That is a GREAT view!
  7. My informants tell me that Paintnsunni is really the Hydrospa dealer for North Baghdad. His mortal enemy is his cousin, Paintnshite, who has the Hydrospa dealership in South Baghdad. I also understand that the Hydrospa dealerships over there are called Hydrobadspa Dealers.
  8. Thanks, Dr. Spa. Your answer is quick, short and to the point! Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between a product like MetalGon and Stain&Scale. I have been told MetalGon causes the metals to clump together so they can be filtered out. Stain&Scale works more like a coating on the spa and equipment to prevent the metals (and calcium) from doing their destructive work. Is this basically correct? Thanks again!
  9. Just took delivery on a new HS Envoy (2nd tub). I used to use a bromine floater, but now they tell me to use chlorine/MPS with HS Freshwater AG+ cartridge. (the cartridge is discretely stamped as Nature2 and I assume its the same as Nature2). The tub also has an ozonator. I have some iron and copper in my well water. The tech at my dealer stated to NEVER use MetalGon or Stain and Scale with Nature2 as he says it will coat the silver nodules in the cartridge and prevent it from working. However, my salesman says I should use MetalGon on startup and keep the Nature2 cartridge out of the spa for a few days until the MetalGon has sequestered the metals and filtered them out. He also says routine use of Stain&Scale will not hurt the Nature2. I am so confused! Oh how I wish for my old bromine floater, but I like having a warranty again! Will MetalGon and/or Stain&Scale hurt a Nature2 cartridge? I checked the Nature2 website, but it really doesn't talk about this issue. Thanks
  10. That is a stellar looking job. It looks so comfortable and inviting. I'll take the lounger on the right!
  11. I am also curious as to a fair price for 220 service since I am upgrading from a 110 Prodigy to a 220 Envoy. Hot Spring gave me the "subpanel" with the breakers already inside as part of the deal on the new tub. Do the prices you are discussing assume the homeowner already has the subpanel? Does anyone know what the usual cost of this subpanel is if the dealer doesn't include it in the package?
