  1. I have just bought a 2006 Sundance Optima. Im using Baqua Spa. This is my first hot tub. After 2 months I've had to replace the filter because it caved in, I keep getting a sticky brown scum line. The spa dealer told me that the filter caved in because the chemicals fouled up the filter. We had to replace the water several times also. Has anyone else had this problem? Is anyone out there that can give me some advice as to what chemicals to use?

I switched from baquaspa to nature2 about a month ago. That was a fantastic decision!

Any baqua spa lovers want to buy a bunch of unopened chemicals? Seriously, I have a bunch of them.

  2. This forum is great! I have a question. Is it ok/accurate to balance at a cold water temp, as in 54 degree well water?

Yes. You're probably going to need to fine tune over the course of a few days anyway. Just keep an eye on pH, and adjust TA accordingly.

Thanks. I've got the process started. I should be up to temp tomorrow, as I have the heater on now. I let it go a few days and picked up 15 degree temp rise for free. My TA/ PH balancing has never gone very well. I may have more questions after things get up to temp.

  3. I have been struggling with cloudy water in a used spa I got about a year and half ago. I am wondering if it is due to a plumbing sealer / leak fix chemical that the previous owner might have put in.

This is just a guess, but I am wondering this because the filter housing had what looked like a coat of white paint in it. Is there something else that would put a heavy white paint like layer inside there?

    Thanks!
