  1. thanks for that response, I checked out that post, and the post you made about somebody else's readings of ta and ph vs. how many oz of muriatic acid to add...those were all very helpful and do work very well by the way-- but just looking around, some online dealer's and online stores say not to use muriatic acid in the spa because the small volume of water, myn is 1500L, it can damage the spa shell and even equipment, so that's what I want to make sure I don't do. that ph down or slo-n-low don't work for a hill of beans and I don't want to raise my tds, I have to add the liquid stuff for my salt generator yet...so that's what I would like to know based on your experience, will muriatic acid, the way you describe using it, damage the tub?

    thanks for your response, you are very helpful by the way, don't know if anybody's mentioned it...

  2. Use muratic acid to lower it, it will work quicker than using ph down and it will not add to your total disolved solids. 2oz per 4 hours, you may use 8-10 oz, its normal with high alk

    Join the club, I have well water, and my inital levels are:

    PH = 8.7

    Alk = 210

    Total Hardness = 310

    I have been putting in 2 ounces of PH Decreaser each day.. my PH initally went UP now it hopefully will start coming back down. I did this for 2 days so far..

    I asked this in a different thread, will muriatic acid in these doses (2oz/4hrs) damage the hottub jets and heater and stuff?

  3. I have been following the rules for adding muriatic acid to my spa, it seems to be the only thing that works, I can't get the slo'n'low and other stuff to bring the alk down worth a darn.

    my question is, will muriatic acid damage my spa, a couple dealers say it 'should' be fine, but I read on the net not to use it in liquid form, so what do you people recommed? i don't want to damage equipment, but the liquid works so well.

    please help me figure this out?

  4. If the air blower has it own jets that are not connected with water jet, I have in the past used a construction grade silicone to plug them up. Squirt a little in each jet and unplug the blower. The silicone will seal the air jets and stop any leaks that might be going on, plus it stay pliable enough so at a later date if needed they can be repaired. Unplug the blower and your done. Is this a older Coleman spa? Of course this is for air jets that have a single opening and are seperate fittings, not the hole drilled in the shell

    this is a hydropool, it has the holes drilled through, but I can take apart each blower jet, fill it with silicone(what is a good type of silicone, can you name names)put it back into the spa (empty of course), I have had to replace 3 of these already, so I am pretty good at it by now, this time I think the blower manifold is toast, so ya, after I am done, I am going to disconnect blower connection and that's that hopefully, I just wanted to see if there was something easier, like that I could slip over the top of the jets or something...

  5. first post, long time reader

    I have an issue, my spa is great, but the air blower system is driving me crazy, so much so that I want to close it off somehow, I was thinking of taking each blower jet apart and putting pvc cement into them to close them up, then disconnect the plug on the spa pack and remove the actual blower motor,

    has anybody got any ideas? thanks
