  1. Have you seen these? they are tablet or something that last for about 30 days or something.. So does anyone know about these? Do they work?
  2. that is such a good idea.. but after running all the pvc I think I will leave it like is. but man great idea.. maybe someone else will see this that is wondering the same thing.
  3. well today in the rain I moved all the pipes and the filter and ran the backwash pipes 125 ft to the front to the ditch.. I think this was the best answer for us.
  4. yep that was the guy that I bought the pool and also who istalled it. I will check out the threaded plugs and also the winter plugs, but we are going to install the valves.
  5. Thank for your responses.. I have a sand filter with a salt generator. So what should I be doing?
  6. ok i think what we are going to do, it turn the pipe up out of the ground and install some type of fitting that will allow to hook up a hose for a sprinkler or something like that..
  7. When the pool guy installed, he just had a small pipe coming out right into our grass right next to the filter and the pool.. I thought that was not going to work, plus with kids.. what a mess that would be.. so my husband installed pipes under the ground out of our yard and into the big pond that is man made for the subdivision.. but now Im thinking that its not right and that it may cause problems, or even people will complain.. So is it fine, or should we move the pipes somewhere else? and where to? we dont have drains or anything, we live in the country...
  8. I asked the pool guy and he said, nope he does not install them, and that most people just do whatever they need fast while water is coming out.. I laughed at him and hung up.. I went to lowes and bought to valves.. i bought some shower drain plugs, but they did not work...
  9. nope I dont have anything like you describe? Does that mean the pool guy installed wrong? I have to backwash my filter then.. oh and is that pressure even with my polaris hooked up? maybe I can plug up the skimmer somehow and also will need to plug up the other side? not sure if the water will come back through the filter, or not.
  10. This maybe a stupid question, but I need to clean out the filter basket by the pump but if I open it up, water will come poring out everywhere, so how do I stop the water from poring out.. is there a way to stop the water? What should I do if I need to open that or remove the filter or remove my salt generator thing??? Maybe its something simple and I dont see it, but I can't for the life of me figure this out... other question, how often and how long should I backwash the filter?
  11. I have the cartridge filter system the pool came with.. However, after 3 days of lots of work and chemicals, Im almost crystal clear.. and did it all myself. what a pain in the butt. LOL :
  12. We have a Intex pool 8ft by 4ft.. We actually have had this pool for over 3 years.. We really like it, but we recently bought a new house in a new area, with lots of sand and full sun. Anyway, I can not get this pool clean. I mean its not green or anything, but super cloudy and now, I can't even have the filter in the pump for more than 2 hours because it gets clogged up that fast. I finally after calling tons of people found a guy that will take a look at it to service it but wants to charge $230.00 for it. WOW that sounds like too much, but I guess at this point its my only option.. I really want to find a better way to vacuum this pool out. I think that would solve all my problems.. Vacuuming the pool with the water hose does nothing.
