We bought a house with an older pool. It's in need of some major work, but the pool guy thinks we can get away with using it this summer and doing the work next fall (this is south Louisiana - no hard freeze). However, the pump keeps slowing down and the pool guy thinks perhaps a pipe is collapsed somewhere between the pool house and the skimmer. The original plans for the pool show that the line from the main drain and the skimmer run together (I don't know if this is normal). There's about 3 1/2 - 4 feet of concrete deck between the skimmer and the dirt. So, in order to find the pipe (at the dirt) and replace it, I need to dig in that area, which has a LOT of trees and bushes. How deep should I EXPECT to find this pipe? The bottom of the skimmer is about 18 inches deep; the pool is about 5 1/2 feet at the main drain.
Thanks for any best guesses you have!
