  1. I have pvc plumbing with cutoffs on each side of the pump and filter. I have a garden hose connected after the filter which supplies water to the slide when pump is running. I also have a garden hose to supply water to solar heating on my roof which doesn't require a separate pump if I partially close the valve through which the water is returned to the pool. I may add a separate pump and I feel that being the size of a garden hose it would have enough supply from the return hose. If you don't move it to draw water after the pump and filter, you could install another outlet in the pool wall and use it as a water supply for the solar pump. With your present idea I would just try it and watch.
  2. I would worry abut wall collapse. If it's not too cold yet you can use the underwater liner repair glue and maybe save money for another year.
  3. Just avoid the depression if the liner is not in contact with the sand. If it is in contact you shouldn't have a problem. I once had several depressions and each one was caused by a tiny hole caused by someone wearing water shoes in the pool. I had no further problems for the life of that liner. I had pool crete in mine.
