  1. Run the filter as often as you want. Maybe a few times a week. Filter needs to be changed every 2 weeks.
  2. We had that same problem so we bought a Pre Fresh Filter to hook up to our water hose since we have well water. It's supposed to hold back all the minerals. But you might not need one of those since you say you can get the iron out a few days then it comes back. I just keep adding Metal Out, I get the kind at Wal-Mart and so far, it is working great for me. I was told by my aunt to dump the whole bottle into the pool and let the water circulate. I use the cleaning pool net to circulate it also. In the next day it will clear it up. At least it did for us. So, just keep adding Metal out to the pool as often as possible.
  3. We just got an Intex Metal Frame pool last week. It's a 12x36 pool and we were having no problems with the water up until this morning when I added Algaecide into the pool. The water was crystal clear the way it should be but when I added a few drops of Algaecide, it has made the water a bit cloudy. I've been running the pump for almost 4 hours like it said on the back of the bottle. When I splash water I can still see a little foam and still smells like Algaecide. Before adding it, I checked the water balance and everything looked okay. The PH was a tad low, that was it. The chlorine level is low now. We didn't have any Algae, I just thought by pouring a few drops into the pool would prevent it. Is there anything that I can do to clear up the water? Thanks!
  4. Thanks! I just googled it and I will be getting some of that.
  5. Also, is there any that you recommend? Thanks!
  6. Yes, we put some shock water into it yesterday and I had all ideas that wouldn't work and when I took the filter out it was yellow, we have iron in our well water. I am gonna try some Clarifier cause I have read that usually helps and I will also look for some chemicals that help with metal if the clarifier doesn't work.
  7. Hi everyone. I am new here to this forum and also to owning a swimming pool. I have a 12'x33" above ground swimming pool. I finished filling it up yesterday evening and added the chlorine tabs and some shock water. After a little while I noticed the bottom of the pool looked green and not white. I have well water so I have been reading some stuff online about it possibly being iron or copper in the water. I checked the test strip and all the readings are good. The chlorine level is good, the Ph is good also and the alkalinity is good. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem before and what can be done to make the bottom of the pool look clear again. The water is clear, when I stand on the front porch the bottom actually looks white but when I go outside and walk to the pool the bottom is green. I would like for the bottom of the pool to look white again. Was wondering if anyone knew what could be done about this. Thanks!
