I bought an alaglas pool approximately 18 months ago. I wasn't completely comfortable with parting with my $25,000.00 before the work began but alaglas insisted the payment be made this way. I would never pay upfront again because then you can't seem to get their attention when something goes wrong. Alaglass pools installed the pool and subbed out the cement work. When the cement company left the day they put in the cement around the pool they had washed out any cement in their lines onto my yard. This left as much as 2 inches in some areas of the yard. For some reason the cement guys drilled two holes in the fiberglass coping of the pool, and the lazer light would not come on when the remote was used. I had to call alaglass for approximately 4 months for them to come out and fix these problems. The cement guy came out and removed the easest chuncks of cement but buried the 2 in slabs and finnally the rest of the work was done. One thing I was never made aware of is that the pristine white of the new pool would over time stain and there are very expensive treatments that have to be used to attempt to eliminate the stains. One pool company guy I spoke with said it would keep you broke to keep the stains out.
