  1. There is not enough info to answer the question. 220V 15 amp is the same as 110V 30amp The wattage calculation is the same. The only difference is that with a 110V 30amp all the power draws from one side of your breaker box. You will probably see a quick dim in the lights when the sp kicks on. My spa is not that big and runs a 220V 50amp breaker for the 5500W heater and two pumps just so you know Amps x Volts = Watts so a 60 amp breaker running 220V would be able to handle 11000 watts before tripping If this did not answer your question, please clarify and I will be glad tohelp
  2. Any thoughts from the pros?
  3. I have a 2004 spa with 2 pumps. one of the pumps is a two speed pump. On low, the water is filtered fine, but on high, dirt from the filter is pushed back into the spa. The bypass valve appears to be woking fine, but is it possible that the spring is weakening and opening prematurely? If this is the case, is there anyway to fix this?
  4. Can I use a chlorine shock in a bromine system?
  5. What is the problem with the jets? Not spinning? Popping out of the hottub? If they are not spinning, I believe there is a lube you can use on them that is safe for the hottub. My jets were popping out. The diffusers were brittle and not catching properly. I doubt you can mix and match brands. Good luck
  6. Do you havea picture of the jet? Do you know the brand? I just restored the jets o my hottub. They were waterway jets. I was able to break the white part off (Diffuser) and just buy that part and kept the external jets. 10 difussers were 42 dollars. I bought them here https://www.poolpartsonline.com/p-24900-218...0-diffuser.aspx Here is a pic of what I am talking about. They have a few that are very similar so make sure the measurements are right before you order them. The difusser worked for all jet heads that I had wether they were directional, spinning or oscilatting. http://spasandmore.com/catalog/waterway-je...8-4000-794.html
  7. The water in the spa is about 3 weeks old. I was using a spa frog with bromine and the mineral insert. Bromine has been low and hardness is low, but PH, alkalinity CYA are all in line. I have been hesitant to put in the chemicals to raise the hardness because it is a milky mixture that will only add to the cloudiness. I have added a second floater for Bromine and now the level is showing at 2.5 PPM for bromine. The filter is new I use Spa Clear and Perfect once a week and a capful of oxidizing shock after each use. Any ideas on how to get the tub clear?
  8. Sorry, Wrong forum.

  10. Maybe the bypass flapper spring is broke allowing water to skip past the filter through the footwell pickup. It's located under the filter for inspection. That was my first thought so I drained the spa and checked the bypass valve. It seems to be intact and firm. I refilled the spa and checking the filters to make sure they are not defective.
  11. I picked up a spotless 2004 Hawkeye Jupiter spa. Very simplistic tub but perfect for the wife and I. However, I am having a problem keeping the water clean. I looked up the schematic for the waterway brand filteration system and all the parts appear to be in working order and installed properly. However, I can see particals enter the filter skimmer area but somehow get past the filter and back into the spa. My first thought was a bad filter so I bought a spare. The new one does the same thing. The filter is a pleatco PRB-25in The filter runs 2 4 hour cycles a day to circulate and filter, but suspended and floating particals can still be seen. Any ideas?
  12. I just went through this, but did the install myself. Square D 50Amp 2 Pole GFCI breaker for the main panel was 95 dollars at Home Depot. The Spa Disconnect box with the same gfci breaker was 72 dollars If you use a GFCI breaker in your main panel, then you need some type of disconnect outside. If you use a spa disconnect box with a built in GFCI breaker, then you still need a breaker for your main panel Either way, Home Depot cost should be $90 - $115 roughly. Either application will give you essentially the same result and the price should not vary that drastically
  13. I am limited on space where I want to place a 4 person hottub. I have 74" as the max width. The tub will be close to the wall of the house and the other side will be partially blocked by concrete steps. I believe this will help with insulation. At any rate, I can't find a good website that shows the features and dimensions of multiple products. Can anyone offer assistance? I am really just looking for an entry level spa, nothing fancy
