Thanks for all the useful information.
My CYA does decrease along with salt which indicates water loss somewhere.
As I said, the pool was tested by a professional & I watched him pressure test all inlets, outlets, etc. with compressed air or gas, I think nitrogen.
He could not explain the salt loss & suggested I seek an answer from someone apparently like yourself.
I have a float valve to keep the pool full but no hydrostatic relief valve to discharge any excess water received from rain
& we have had several inches of rain during the last 3 months. I assume that if I had a relief valve somewhere I could see it. The only outlet pipe is thru the backwash at the pump.
The pool has not overflowed & I assume this is because the pool has now been covered for about 6-7 weeks. The cover is not very porus. The salt loss has been a problem all summer. When I first had the SWG installed there wasn't a problem for about 6 months & that was about 18 month ago.
I have corrected the salt concentration to 3200 & CYA to 40 & will try to get it to the 60-80 recommended by you.
I will be taking a sample to the pool store today to check my readings.
I have checked my TA & it is 90 & I guess add some borax to get it down since the PH Is already low (7.3)
Thanks again
