  1. Last year, my pool filter blew up and dumped about 150 lbs of sand into my above ground pool. Along with that I could not have it rectified in time and algae built up with it too. I'm opening it up again this year and I'm wondering should I just drain it all out and start over? I purchased a brand new sand filter and am ready to go, but I'm not exactly sure how to clean this mess up. Even when I do drain the pool down, how would I get that much sand out of the bottom of the pool? Please let me me know what you think. Thanks!
  2. I have a sand filter that at ths point seems like its only recirculating water. Im still a n00b to this so please bear with me. I have a hayward sand filter which this year seems to have been getting chocked up. I replaced it with another used sand filter as well as the pump. Still getting the same problem. When on backwash the filter just lets water flow through it does not have any pressure. When i put it on rinse it starts squeeling like its backed up. Any help would be appreciated as ive been going at this for months. Thanks in advance!
