  1. Hello all! I'm new here. I have read the other forum topics on problems with Jandy pool heaters not lighting and such and none of the problems I saw quite described my unique situation. Any help from you experts would be greatly appreciated. This heater is only just over a year old. It worked just fine out of the box and after a few months it started not lighting intermittently, and now it won't do anything. I am very mechanically inclined but I am no pool heater expert so please be patient with my terminology. This is a natural gas unit using 120V AC. So, now when I turn the heater on (I use iAquaLink), the green light on the built-in display comes on and it shows set temp and water temp. Water temp says 243 degrees, which is obviously not correct and then it says "H2O Sensor Short" immediately and nothing else happens. This is a recent development. The other problem with it's had for a while but intermittently is that it won't light. When it does work, here's how it goes. It seems there is a 2-stage ignition process. When I would turn the heater on with the app, the green light would come on showing water temp and set temp. After a few seconds, you would start to see an orange glow from inside the unit but it wasn't really putting off heat. After a 10-15 seconds or so, I would hear a loud click of some sort and the slight orange glow would go away which is immediately followed by a whoosh sound like a pocket of gas being ignited. At this point you can kind of see blue flames and a lot of heat comes out and we're in business. It first started just randomly going out and I thought the wind was blowing out the flame but then it started doing it when there was no wind. Then it started not lighting at all pretty often. The light comes on, the slight orange glow comes on, the loud click and orange glow goes away, but then no whoosh. Several seconds pass and the process starts all over again on it's own until there are 3 failed attempts and then it says "ignition fault" or something like that. I have never seen the ACS or whatever that everyone else's seems to show. Sorry for the super long post but please help! I have had 3 "pool professionals" out and they are all clueless.
