  1. Thanks for the comments...and you are correct, the main reason I was considering the used Royal was because it was 3K cheaper and it was only 2 years old. If price were not an issue I would buy the Grenada. I like the layout better and the dealer has an excellent reputation.
  2. It still has warranty for another year on parts...no labor
  3. I was jut about to buy a New Reflections (Vita) Grenada for about 7.5K..and then I found a 2 year, barely used, Royal Sultan for 5K from a private owner. The guy said he paid about 11K for it..which seems like a rip off but the used price seems good. Its in perfect condition and has had no problems with it. The question is do I spend almost 3K more to get a new spa or take advantage of getting a used spa and save about 3K? Interested in opinions.
  4. Getting close to buying a Reflections Grenada. I have been doing a lot of research, it seems like a pretty good spa for the money. Does anyone have any experience or opinions?
  5. What part of Ohio are you referring to ...becasue I do as well. (Cincinnati) I have heard good stuff about the dealer as well. (Eastgate Pools and spa) I actually am down to Reflections, Coleman and Royal. All three of the dealers seem very reputable.
  6. Can anyone tell me about the quality of these Spas. I am considering them and want to know what anyones opionions are.
  7. I have to be honest, shopping for a Hot tub has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had buying something...much more than buying a used car!
  8. Thanks a bunch. The reservation you have is the same as mine. I do like the dealer though and he has carried them for years and says service calls are neglible so I might take the chance. Just curious, which model of Artesian did you get and how much did you pay for it?
  9. Thanks for the advice...it sounds like it may be worth the 500 even though I am giving up some space. And I am not set on Jacuzzi. That was a late entry to my list but jumped to the top based on the reputation and price point. I also looked at the grand cayman. Are you happy with your artesian?
  10. Yes...but they look both lookvery similar, other than the size and the 300 has some fancier lighting....which I could care less about.
  11. I am first time spa buyer and am looking at a Jacuzzi the above models. Can anyone give me their opinions of one over the other. Basically the 280 is a little bigger but the sales guy says the 365 is much better and the price is only about 500 more. Thoughts? Is it truely a significantly better tub and if so why?
  12. I am new to the forum and about to purchase my first Hot Tub. What I realized was, wow, they are expensive and how you can not get a straight answer from any dealer. Its worse than buying a user car. Everyone says they are the best. My goals were to get a big, decent hot tub, with some nice lighting and that is an energy efficient. I really dont care alot about the number of jets or pumps, etc. I absolutely dont want to spend more than 8K. I was initially thinking I could spend 5K and meet my requirements but I now rethinking that. With that being said, I have narrowed it down to 3 Hot tubs. -A Calspa Avalon that is from a major Hot Tub retailer in my city that tends to have slimy, slick talking salespeople. They were offering my this for 7500 (which they said is a "killer deal") and is the best waranty out there. -A Gulf Coast LX11000 that is much cheaper and is sold out of a wharehouse for 5500. -Or a Royal Spa Emperor which is sold from a small Hot tub Store which has carried them for years and been around for years that I tend to trust more. I know someone who knows the owner and they knocked off 700 of the sale price. So I can get if for 7700 with everything. (They claim it is extremely efficient and doesnt do alot of fancy stuff (2 speed pumps, computer controls, etc) which keeps the maintenance down and longevity up. This sounds good and I was just about to go this route but I saw some comments on the net that bashed them. For example they dont have skimmers, insulation method is bad, etc. So now I am wondering if it is just a small outfit and is not a really good spa design and just more puffery. Does any one have any thoughts or experience they can share?
