A lot of good info on fiberglass refinishing! Scott mentions that he prefers epoxy paint. We all have seen that forums are loaded with epoxy pool paint failures and chalking (I am aware that many failures are due to inadequate prep - though chalking would not typically related to prep.) Scott mentions not to use gelcoat in refinishing an entire fiberglass pool. I'm curious why he feels this way. I've seen pool manufactures sent their own tech reps out when there was spider cracking all over a new pool surface. Those techs sanded the entire pool and the sprayed on one coat of straight gel coat. Some 8 years later it's looking great. Looking forward to hearing more on this!
