Amanda Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I would like to take a moment to bring this topic to mind. I see everyonce in a while "where is the moderator?" posted in a topic when things begin to go awry. There are quite a few people that frequent this site. I have no affiliation with it and do not sell spas through here or try to promote my company. (I will answer questions when directed specifically about it.) This is for folks wanting information- asking real questions to help further their education and give them the knowledge needed in order to make an informed decision when purchasing a spa, or to continue their education on how to care for their current one. I am very unhappy (and a bit angered this time) that people have been offended, insulted, degraded, and generally have been "turned off" by the "free-for-all" attitude that has emerged once again in this forum. This is to remind each of us as individuals to moderate ourselves and each other in a kind way. Everything we needed to learn we learned in kindergarten, right? I'm beginning to wonder if I even want to come around and I have no doubt that many people after seeing certain posts wouldn't even take the time to comment about it or visit ever again. I hope that EVERYONE takes this to heart and even though we are all from different states and companies... any minor differences can be set aside and we can actually present a united educational foundation of information for our readers. Again... if this continues to happen I don't think I have the strength or time to post something like this again. My last request: Please present yourself professionally, with a clean sense of humor, and to benefit others- not yourself. Be kind to one another. Stop the insults. Stop degrading others. Stop pointing fingers and looking for someone else to take a stand and moderate things. Take the stand on your own. Moderate your own words. Give true information freely without the intent of bettering yourself. There are a few who do this, and for those individuals- I commend your efforts. There are a few who do not, and for those- you will ruin it for everyone else. To our readers... please be patient and take things with a grain of salt. Read between the lines if you can. I hope this helps. Quote

thestallion Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Amen, Amanda! Well put! I know I might be someone who some would interpret as being guilty of some of the offenses mentioned. It is not my intent to do so. Quote
Amanda Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 Well put! I know I might be someone who some would interpret as being guilty of some of the offenses mentioned. It is not my intent to do so. I'm glad it is not your intent to do so. I guess I became a little upset to see some of the posts that have been happening. I try to come here with "new eyes" each time. I imagine what is like for someone to read the topics for the first time. I put myself in a "browsers shoes" to remember what it's like to not know anything about spas and have the desire to learn. I think it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves (daily) of these things. I see that this topic has been viewed by many people so far and only a couple of comments. I hope the silence is a moment of reflection. I do not want to make anyone feel guilty or bad... but I do want people to think about what image is being represented and how important that is and how it reflects on ourselves, our industry, and each other. All we have is our words in here. All of our browsers can do is read what we have typed. Quote
