Looking into purchasing a Jacuzzi J-345. I was wondering what the going rate is for this tub in the Virginia area?

Well, no-one is telling, call the local dealer for a price quote.

Thank you for your response. The local dealer is quoting $6299 for the J-345 which includes delivery, set-up, cover, cover lifter, set of plastic steps, and start up chemical kit . Is this a fair price?

That sounds pretty reasonable to me, having visited my local dealer in NY and seeing similar pricing. Have you wet tested yet?

Harrows price is 6695 in NY for that same model and comes with the same thing. You should try to look at other tubs if possible before you make a split decision.

Jacuzzi makes a good spa. If you like them but are unsure about pulling he trigger and want to compare with other similar spas I'd suggest Sundance, Hot Spring, Marquis, Caldera, Artesian and D1.

I gotta question how anyone could put Thermospas on their list of spas to check out.

Whats funny is their current program must not be working they contacted us about becoming a dealer.

When I caught my breath and got up off the floor from laughing and said not just no but HELL NO!

You should have at least went to lucnh on them and listened to their presentation. Then when you said no the rep would excuse himself and go call his manager and come back with another deal like "We just got a truckload of spas that were canceled by a dealer in Iowa. If you take us on I can get you those spas for 20% off".

Hey thats a good idea. I probably could have gotten a free trip to the factory out of them.

Telling someone to check out thermospas is like saying, "How'd you like to have a really hard core salesman spoil you entire evening in your house for 4 hours before you kick him out".

Well then they can justify charging you $16,000 for a spa because "no other spa dealer out there offers this kind of service."

I've heard that their kind of service is no service.

I'm glad to hear that Jacuzzi makes a good spa. I was looking at a Sundance Bahia and a D1 Sojourn that are in the same price range; however, both Sundance and D1 were presented to me by the dealers to be the mid-grade models as opposed to the premium models. Is there a reason why Jacuzzi's premium brand would be around the same price range as the Sundance 700 series and D1 Sojourn?

And, thanks for all the responses, I find the banter quite amusing:)

Some like them very much and others maybe less but most would put them in their top 8 or so IMO. A lot have said Jacuzzi is a half step down from Sundance (they're both made by the same company) which may be the case but even if that's true don't sweat it if you like the Jacuzzi.

Jacuzzi I think is more compfortable and built the same as sundance for the most part. Jacuzzi ownes sundance but moved the building to the sundance factory, go figure. :D

I prefer Sundance, just my opinion.

Just adding my grain of salt but Sundance is a better spa in my opinion. And I've been doing warranty repairs on both for quite a few years.

Which tub do you think is more compfortable?

I think both are comfortable; however, there's a dimension issue on my deck.

The Sundance bahia in the price range may be too large at 7'4 x 7'4. The dealer is recommending the sundance majesta ( i think that's the name) but it bumps the price up to $7000. Where the Jacuzzi is $6300. Also the pricing quoted to me was until the end of the month which is coming real soon. With hot tub pricing, is it better now in the spring or May closer to summer? I know the Jacuzzi dealer said something about there being a sale because of the 50th anniversary but of course, he can't promise what the next sale will be.

Any thoughts about pricing better now or May?

ps- The other thought was that since I'm only 5'2" it was mentioned that the foot mound maybe more helpful since I may kind of sink in the deep seating. Is this true or can this be remedied by a seat/ water pillow? Decisions...decisions
