Brulan1 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 I didn't say I'd never heard of Avogadro's number. I was simply saying "so what's your point". I've seen some of your spa salesmanship theories of irrelevance and I'd like to see you take a hack at this subject. Are you sure you weren't referring to Avocados? Avagadros number derrrr. And you still have to look it up. Quote
Guzz Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Avagadros number derrrr. And you still have to look it up. I know, lets turn this overly long thread that won't go away, into a thread about avocados. I like them cut in half and filled with shrimp cocktail. Quote
thestallion Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Circulation pumps circulate the water, so that your jet pumps don't have too. yes they do very very slowly so much so in fact that if you open the cover you won't even to be able to tell if the water is moving. Just trust that it is but PLEASE do drop anything into the water because it will not have the strength to pull it into the filter. grahamtasia please give it a rest. they work but they are far far from perfect and there are genuine other ways to filter that do in fact do some things better. Why is it so hard for you to to even acknowledge this. Quote

NOOOOOO I am not wrong. I think we all know that I was speaking about the traditional and more commonly used smaller laing pump .With that 48 frame pump that is being used as a circ YES you can see the water moving most definitely. grahamtasia Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Anyone got any good guacamole receipes? What does avacodoes have to do with the pros and cons of circulation pumps? Quote

grahamtasia Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I just took a spa in trade that was built in 1979 that the circ pump just went out on it. I though that circulation pumps broke down all the time? Quote
thestallion Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I though that circulation pumps broke down all the time? You thought correctly it is a rarity but every now and than something can happen like a solar eclipse or a new comet sighting. But by and large they do fail quickly and you are correct in your thinking. grahamtasia is there any chance that you will ever be able to pull your head out of who's ever hole you have it buried in. Or can you remove the blinder's you have firmly attached there is whole another world just waiting for you when you do. by the way I am being sarcastic about the pump. Quote

A spa circ pump running since 1979 is a rarity on the one hand and on th other, to say circ pumps fail quickly is an exaggeration. As my father used to say, "If I have have to pull this car over and turn around you two are going to be sorry". Quote

Tech I think you can see that I have never said any of the systems are better or the best but that there are differences with each and each one offers some advantage that the other does not. I just find it irresponsible for some sales people to tout as one as being superior it is simply untrue. In the end most of toady's spas with proper care will keep your water clean it might take a bit more effort with some but not much and a person needs to look at a spa they are thinking about in total. Dealer, warranty, energy efficiency, therapy, comfort. To circ pump or not circ pump is really not that big a deal in a well made and well backed tub. Quote

Come on man you can not be this slow. If your spa does not use a circulation pump, then a circulation pump is not important. If your spa does use a circulation pump, then it is important. I do know that HotSprings makes a very reliable and long lasting circulation pump and it works fantastic on their spas making them very energy efficient. Quote

The pump they use the same that most all others who use the small circ pump use. As it has been pointed out by several others besides myself YES they are energy efficeint AND "about" the same as a two speed that runs for a 1/4 of the time. Quote
