Jason Collier Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 I am looking for a hot tub. My wife and I are in our 30s and we have a 3-year-old and a 6-month old. We live in a new home development and they are putting a pool in, but no hot tub. We have an average sized back yard and plan to put the hot tub next to the patio so we can watch the kids on the playset. I have read many good things on the forum about the Marquis Spas. Unfortunately, according to Marquis's website, the nearest dealer is about a 90 mile drive. So I wanted to get some feedback from everyone on here before making the treck, family in tow, to do a wet test. I am not to hip on the idea of the Soundsations options, but the Dolphin remote seems pretty jazzy. A secure cover is a necessity with the kids. We do have a fenced in yard though, so that will reduce the risk of neighborhood kids. Looking for any feedback, prices paid/prices expected. Our nearest dealer is: SUPERIOR SPAS 4375 HICKORY BLVD. GRANITE FALLS, NC - 28630 Any experiences with them are greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Jason Collier Quote

If marquis is too far away, have you considered other spas, what else is in your area, check out yellow pages or online for other quality spa dealers closer to you. marquis is good but there are also many other good options. Jason Collier Marquis is definitely one of the good spa makers but 90 miles away is a bit of a drive (I'm not sure if you mean nearest Marquis dealer or nearest dealer period ). I'll only add that you should get one thing in writing. Will they charge any sort of "trip charge" when they come out to do warranty work?? People assume that warranty work is free and while the labor and parts may be it is common to charge for mileage when the customer is not local and at 90 miles I would think there may be a charge. If you buy from tehm make sure it's worded on teh invoice as to what if any trip charge there will be. Quote

Roger Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 Here's the only one I found in the phone book http://www.arcticspas.com Jason And how far away is this Arctic dealer? They also are a fine tub, even though I would prefer the Marquis. But if they are 20 miles away and have a reputation for good service, it may be better to go with the closer dealer. Unless your not worried about the warranty period and something going wrong. Because sometimes you don't have any problems untill the tub starts to age. Quote
spatech (the unreal one) Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 Here's the only one I found in the phone book http://www.arcticspas.com Jason Jason, If you go to the websites of the major spa brands they all have dealer locators where you enter your zip code and it shows you their nearest dealer. Marquis is a good choice but if you want more to look at check out the websites for Arctic, Sundance, Hot Springs, Caldera, Jacuzzi, D1, and others. Quote
