Meara
I have a HotSpring Landmark Spa that turned 5 yrs old this past Sept (2005). It started leaking in July and the company I purchased it from could not get to it until August. They "repaired" it and returned it to me. In November it started leaking again. This time I paid the bill for the new "repair". I noticed when they returned the spa the second time that they did not put foam back in underneath. My spa sits on a concrete slab outside. The temps in my area *can* drop below zero but rarely get that bad. However in late Nov/early Dec we did have a severe storm where the temp dropped just below zero for a couple of days. My spa never lost power. In January of this year I noticed it was leaking yet again. Am I out of luck on this or can anyone suggest a way to get the company who has "repaired" the spa twice to work on it again w/o making me pay? Otherwise, I'll just have to listen to the spa gurgle and keep re-filling it with about four inches of water every week/week and a half until I can afford to purchase a Dimension One Californian Spa (which I can't afford to do this year I don't think). Suggestions?

Suggestions? Can you tell if the spa is leaking from the same place? Were the original leak and the second leak from the same place? If so they should not have charged you for the second repair(in my opinion). If this leak is from the same area then they should warranty their work and the foam they removed should have been replaced. My opinion. Kreg
If you do purchase another spa, learn from your mistake and do NOT buy another full-foam spa. Spas are man-made and stuff goes wrong, no matter how "good" the spa is that you buy. Try looking for a spa with two layers of insulation, creating a dead air space inbetwen. Much less expensive to repair if anything goes wrong down the road.

So lets just bin all the other brands that are full foam or Tp and only allow arctic spas to be sold. Full foam works, if it didn't, and it was cheaper to fix it by putting tin foil in a spa, don't you think all the major players would have done it years ago. I totally agree that you should not have been charged for the second repair. Did you alert the local HS about the foam not being replaced? Sometimes, unfortunately, it takes (in my experience) talking to a few people at the local HS to get things taken care of properly - I hope you've not let too much time pass since the warranty was up. I'd definitely talk to them again, and also write the Hot Spring's Customer Service (HS website) and explain the situation fully - see if they can help. Good Luck! Meara
Thanks for the ideas Kargrego. No I've never tried contacting HS directly nor told anyone about the foam not being replaced. No Sharkman009, I can't tell if it's leaking from the same place as the last two times. It may be but I can't be positive. The company I purchased it from, and who did the two repairs, said the two repairs were not in the same place. I, of course, would have to take them at their word because I never saw the Landmark from underneath where it was leaking from. Guzz, what are PM's? Thanks for everyone's help so far! More time=more money given you have the same person working on a ff or tp
