mkelly Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Help, does anyone have any experience with a Hot Springs Grandee spa that leaks? The leak seems to have started about the same time that the 2 moto massages stoped working. Quote
hottubdan Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Issues should not be related. How old is spa? Take equipment door off and see if you can identify where the leak is coming from. How much water are you losing; how fast? Quote

Could be a cracked air line nipple on the backside of the moto housing which would cause it to loose air, leak and not perform proplery. How old is the spa? Quote

Pull your filter cartridges out and then try running the jets to see if this makes the motomassage jets start working. If they work your filters are either in need of cleaning or depending on the age of the filters may need to be changed. If they dont work after pulling the filters then there is probably something going on with the jet itself. If your handy and you want to try to check it yourself you can remove the cover plate to the jet and look inside, there is a small blue airtube on the side of the jet make sure that is plugged into the back of the jet and that ther is no holes in it. My money is on the filters as we do very few repairs on motomassage jets. As far as the leak goes, take the door off the equipment area and take a flashlight and look around for any signs of moisture. Make sure you look down around the base of the equipment where the plumbing goes down through the floor of the equipment compartment. I have had to go aout on repairs where customers or service techs have torn the skirt apart on Hotspring spas looking for a leak that they were convinced was coming from the under skirt plumbing when in fact it was coming from a heater or shaft seal and trailing down the plumbing and running out from under the spa. How old is your spa? Quote

How old is your spa? Thats a good point! Alot of the times you could just be restricting the flow. If you are loosing water than that isn't a good sign, usually its a leak especially if the moto isn't working it could def. be a leak in that area Quote
