crj900 Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 (sorry about the subject I meant for it to say "softub or dream maker" mods if you could change that I'd appreciate it) Hey all. I can get the Softub 300 or the Dream Maker Eclipse spa for 1,000$ each. Both are less then a year old. In the same condition, a tiny bit of wear and tear but nothing much. The dream maker spa is 26inches tall. This seems very short to me. Does anyone know how "tall" the softub 300 is? Here are the specs on both. I'm leaning more towards the softub. Also, which tub would hold its heat better in cold weather? Would I be able to hop in either one when its 40 degrees out? Let me know your opinion! Thanks! http://www.spadepot.com/warehouse/eclipse.htm http://softub.com/300.htm Quote
Spamaster101 Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 You can get in either at any temperature, but neither will hold temperature with the cover off. They use the pump to heat the water so when the pump is in high speed you are only getting around 600-800 watts of energy into the spa. Quote
crj900 Posted June 12, 2007 Author Report Posted June 12, 2007 If the pump is at high speed, shouldn't it make the water warmer? Or am I missing something here. How fast will it lose its temperature in 50 degree weather. Also, do you guys know the max temp of these spas? Thanks! Quote
Dr. Spa Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 "If the pump is at high speed, shouldn't it make the water warmer? " If the pump is on high speed it will add heat to the water, however with the cover off, MORE heat will be escaping from the water than the pump will add. Quote
crj900 Posted June 12, 2007 Author Report Posted June 12, 2007 I gotcha. So what do you all think? Which one would you get. I know they are both mini, but they are in my price range. Quote
rubadubdub Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 I'm a dealer for Softtub. PERSONALLY, I have used both and for what they are I like the DreamMAKER, Although Soft tubs are nice too. Quote
crj900 Posted June 13, 2007 Author Report Posted June 13, 2007 hmm, I think im going to go w/ the dreammaker. Its just odd how the softub is 4,000+ brand new and the dreammaker is atleast 1,000 cheaper brand new. Why is softub so much more expensive new? Quote
rubadubdub Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 BETTER WARRENTY for starters. Ease of portability, I guess they assume people are going to pay for Conveniece and sad to say, they do. If you're looking for a 110v tub to just plug and play and not caryt around all over the dreammaker is cool. Alot of my customers who purchase SOFT TUBS will cart them to thier cottages in the summer and back home in the winter. Unless they have a 4 season cottage. One of my freinds bought a dreak maker, the nice thing about them is you don't have to replace the liner like you do in a soft tub. ($600CAD) The dreammaker if you scrathc it or crack it you can fix it with a torch! AHAHAHA No lie! Seen it done....YES!! It thins out the shell and you have to be carefull but its amazing! Quote
