Brulan1
Hi--i'm buying a fiberglass swim spa 8x16 4.6" deep---i'm going to keep the temp around 85-90F--How do i start out as for adding chemicals, i'm a beginner no idea where to begin please anybody help me in the right direction Bring your water sample to a local retailer that is highly recommended. I would start off by putting a mineral and scale prevention so you can remove the minerals from the water that tap water contains (sparklizer plus or Metal X). Than I would use a sanitizer like bromide or and Ionizer. If you use bromide you can use a monopersulphate(nonchlorine shock) with an enhancer to make a bromide salt solution or just plain Tabs. If you use an Ionizer (natural spa purifier) I recomend using an activate(monopersulfate)by rendevous and a chlorine shock (seachlor lithium or Dychlor). The spa purifier you have to switch every 4 months but with bromide it is continuous. You might not like the dry itchy skin that bromide produces so you would you an ionizer cartridge(natural purifier), with a chlorine and non chlorine shock. Depending on the water capacity you use proportions relative to capacity. I hope I can help you. If you have any other questions after seeing your retailer or the place you bought the swim spa, feel free to ask me.
