Long story short...

Purchased floor model 2005 D1 Chairman 2, it came with cover, lift, stairs, attached spa side bar and 4 stools for $9900. During delivery, spa shell was damaged and after nearly a month of waiting on store & D1, they fixed it. The repair is below the water but looks horrible. I have voiced my displeasure and have been offered $1000 back.

Now I am wondering if I should even accept the credit and keep the spa or tell them to come pick it up. So far the D1 service has not been so good. Bottom line...am I being taken?

Personally, it would bother me and every time I got in the spa my eye would go right to it. The problem though is that you accepted it. Would have had a better position if you sent it back and not signed for it. At this point, I assume they have your money. Offering you $1,000 back seems reasonable. If they stick with their position, then I guess you're stuck.

As long as they cover any issues that may arise during the life of the shell I'd counter offer 2 grand and see where it gets ya. But it wouldn't bother me that much, I've been in plenty of ratty tubs. But some people buy new to get new, and that's not what you got so if it bothers you have them exchange it.

If it was me, I'd want another tub. If I paid big bucks for a nice tub, then that's what I want. $1,000 may appear nice now, but after it's spent you will always have a tub with a horrible repair on the shell. They made the mistake, they should make it right.
