Bris Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 We recently replaced a leaking slide valve on our 2005 CalSpa. After fixing it, we turned the hot tub back on and it was running /heating properly. After draining / cleaning / refilling the hot tub it is no longer heating. All jets are open, no filters in place and we are not getting any errors. I have checked the voltage and we are getting 120v red/neutral and 120v black/neutral but not 240v red/black. I have checked the 3 fuses I identified for continuity and see no issues. What are the next steps someone would recommend? Also I have tried finding the heating element to test and am not sure of the easiest way to access it Quote
Cusser Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 Bris - DISCLAIMER: my own CalSpa is 17 years older than yours, so like comparing a canoe to a submarine. 19 hours ago, Bris said: All jets are open, no filters in place and we are not getting any errors. But the above statement made me wonder if yours has a pressure switch that needs to be activated for voltage to be delivered to the heater element. Running without filter(s) would produce low pressure. So I'd install the filter(s) and see if the heater then kicks on. Quote
Bris Posted May 13 Author Report Posted May 13 Unfortunately this did not work. But thank you for the recommendation! Quote
Cusser Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 Got it. Yes, access to components on many spas is a challenge. Can you try a temporary bypass of your flow or pressure switch? My 1988 CalSpa has a flow switch and I've had to adjust it a couple of times over the past 36 years. Quote
