Scratchingheadinconfusion Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Hello, I have a 16x32 intex above ground pool. We have the sand filter and added on the saltwater eco system to it. We do have a water softener hooked up at the well so unfortunately ALL of our water runs thru the softener/sanitizer. When we first filled up the pool I tested the water to get a baseline. Literally everything was essentially 0. Which coming from a water softener - ok makes sense. Added in 11 bags of salt (our salt bags recommended that much if starting at 0)… turned on the unit and it’s ran for over 24 hours- all the test read outs still say nearly 0 for everything, essentially being unchanged from before. I will say we have had the pool up and filled for a few weeks now (we just didn’t get to add the salt and turn the saltwater system on until Friday). So since literally allllll of our levels are 0 is that just like swimming in the water that we shower in essentially? Like swimming in bottled water?? 😆 or am I missing something? Also, since turning on the system we noticed the ionizer??? I think that’s what it is? The bar/water to chlorine converter part of the saltwater system, the plastic is tinged brown, like when old metal items change color over time… but it’s been like 24 hours? Is this normal? The water isn’t brown, just the clear plastic part on the system. Does that mean it’s defective or something? Sorry I’m new at all of this. Thank you in advance for your help Quote
