2008 jacuzzi j-480 control panel inoperable after running jets for 1 or 2 cycles - help?

I've run into a strange problem. I have a 2008 Jacuzzi J-480. After running the jets for 1 or 2 cycles, the topside control buttons are inoperable. It tends to reset itself after a few hours, but it won't reset if I kill the power for a minute or so, then power it back up.It really only happens when there are occupants in the spa. If I run the jets when nobody is in the spa, it doesn't seem to happen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are all the buttons unresponsive, or just the jets key?  If just the jets key is unresponsive, then the jet pump is likely thermally tripping.  A thermally tripping pump will eventually cool down, reset, and turn back on by itself.  When a pump trips thermally, it will be very hot to the touch.  You may also notice that the motors electrical label has discolored or browned.
