SDC04 Posted March 16 Report Posted March 16 Did the maintenance water change on our hottub and decided to try the Leisure Time Renew and Reserve water system instead of chlorine. We followed the directions. First we added a sequestering agent to the water. Next the Alkalinity was adjusted and PH level was to follow. Then the Reserve was added. The Renew was the last chemical added to activate the bromine. Tested the water and everything was good. Bromine was a little high but no big deal. Next day tested the water and the test strip was showing that there wasn't any bromine. So, I added more Renew to the water. Test strip show bromine to be a little high. Retested the water the following day and once again no bromine. Why isn't Renew continously keeping bromine (Reserve) activated? What am I doing wrong? Quote
waterbear Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 It's a two step bromine system and requires daily dosing much like chlorine. If you want less maintenance try 3 step bromine. https://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?/topic/53410-how-to-use-bromine-3-step-method/ Quote
