robhawaii Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 Pump no 2, connected to my Balboa VS501Z pack no longer comes on. Is it possible to switch Pump 1 and 2 connections in the pack to see if the problem is the pump or the topside control? Spa purchased new in Jan 2021. Replaced topside control bezel sticker in Sept 2024, and heater element due to corroded contact on exterior post of heater connection. Topside control with sticker removed appeared intact, before applying bezel sticker. The past few days I noticed that when I pressed the pump 2 button the pump did not always come on unless I pressed the button again, (pump 2 has only 1 speed). This was an intermittent issue with the pump 2 button Today, I turned off breaker and when turned on "PR" appears. Normally, after a few minutes pumps come on to purge air in lines. This did not occur and pump 1 came on in circulation (low speed) and "EC" appeared on display (EC is the mode I always use). Then a couple of minutes later the heater indicator light came on. Then, when I pressed the pump 1 or pump 2 button the heater indicator light turned off. However, after a few minutes the heater indicator light did come back on. Thank you Rob Quote
robhawaii Posted March 13 Author Report Posted March 13 It finally stopped raining and I removed the side cover and climbed under the deck to open the spa pack. Everything looks dry and board and connections look good. Turned on breaker and pressed pump 2 button and I heard the relay click. I removed the 20 Amp 250V (30123) ceramic pump fuse and it is blown (checked with voltmeter for continuity). I am Ordering some replacements. I wonder why the fuse blew? As I mentioned in OP I had noticed that when I was pressing the pump 2 button the pump would not always come on the first time I pressed the button. Failing relay? Quote
