cmje Posted January 20 Report Posted January 20 I just got my first hot tub for cheap ($800). I'm worried about some cracks in it. I plan on drilling a small hole on either end of it to stop more cracking, then using clear silicone to fill it in. Should I drill all the way through the insulation or just the fiberglass? Is this just a piece of cr*p that I should throw away or is it salvageable? I'm worried because I already have $300 invested into it with the truck, let alone the time and man power to get it on my porch. Thanks in advance yall!! Fingers crossed i can get it working. Quote
CanadianSpaTech Posted January 20 Report Posted January 20 Ouch... the crack at the hole in the 2nd to last photo... is that in the bather area and underwater? Quote
Macguyver6940 Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 That does not look good! $800 was a lot to spend for this condition - not just the cracks, but what little I can see of the framing looks a little hinky. I recently picked up an older spa (2007) with no cracks, minor leak at the drain which caused some wood rot - rebuilding that now, otherwise working for $100! Quote
