Euphanasia Posted November 27, 2024 Report Posted November 27, 2024 I had a cracked precision jet housing in my Tiger River Bengal. The tubing leading up to it was all ribbed flexible pvc tubing. I read up on it, and LOTS of people said to just use purple primer and standard PVC cement--including the place I bought it from. And I did. And I thought it would work, so I encased it in 25# foam. Dumb, dumb, DUMB!!! So yeah, it started to leak immediately and now I'm carving out 25# foam with an electric carving knife. Loads of fun. Every connection has water staining, so it's clear that my glue job didn't hold. All joints still feel wiggly after sitting for a few weeks. So let me make sure I've got this all right: 1/2" Flexible PVC tubing (the ribbed kind) uses standard PVC fittings for things like junctions and elbows, and connects to the precision jet tee and elbow in the same way that you'd set up an irrigation pipe--prime, apply adhesive, fit, twist and wait. It's better to use something made for spas, like Christy's Red Hot Pool Pro. Don't insulate unless you're sure it doesn't leak. Is that all right? Anything else I need to know? Thanks Quote

Can be easily removed. Quote
