LED Lighting Mystery

I have an EC-867LX Avalon Cal Spa. The power supply for the LED lights behind the front panel has two sets of wires zip tied to it. The one pair was connected, while the other pair was not. When the second set of wires was connected it seems like the lights got brighter, now if both are not connected either perimeter lights or the interiors lights go out. Also the spotlight under water I have noticed is not working. All other lights appear to be on and I can change their color (with both wires connected). I am wondering if only one pair of wires was really supposed to have been connected and this caused some damage to the LEDs when the second set was connected. I have looked everywhere for information about the LED lighting and how it should be hooked up, but can't find anything. I assumed it was an assembly error. If anyone can help that would be great.
