Hello All,

I have a 1999 HotSpring Sovereign that has developed a leak. I just replaced  the Heater and Jet Pump. Every thing worked well then this leak started. I’ve spent some time investigating it myself as far as I can and have discovered that:

  1. The leak is coming from behind the back wall of the equipment bay and making its way into the bay from around the black exhaust vent .  When the  system lever is turned to 3 or 6 o'clock position, with water increases greatly, which are the front Jets.    When the  system lever is turned to 9 or 12 o'clock position, with water leak almost stops, which are the rear Jets.

  2. The leak seems to be dependent on whether I have the Jets on/off and also the position of the Jet control diverter.  I have seen no leak in the 9  and 12 o’clock position but heavy leaking when turned to 3 and 6 o’clock as I stated above. The tub was filled to the top, With the Tub turned off for a day, the water level dropped to below the front right 4 top jets. (10 Precision jets in all)  The rest of the jets are still covered in water.

I spoke to a tech at backyardplus  and he thought it might be a AIR INTAKE Check Valve?

Do I have some kind of pressure related problem where the Jet diverter position relates to how large the leak is. Maybe this is entirely due to the broken air check valve or maybe its just a leak in the pipework that feeds certain jets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mike
