Hi there. 2012 sundance Altamar started leaking from the bottom of the heater once I started filling it up. The tub has been sitting empty for almost 2 years. Is there any way to fix the leak? Or replace it? Saw some cheaper Chinese heaters on Amazon but a little hesitant. The original is quite expensive. Thank you.we are new to hot tubs and never owned one before. Please help. Kids were so excited and no we are stuck.

The heater has to come out one way or the other at some point. You might be able to remove the heater from the side of the spa pack housing with water in the spa and the 3/4" plumbing lines still attached and open the heater housing to look inside and see what is leaking. Key word being MIGHT. As for where to buy I would say they are all made in the same factory.

Replacement is likely IMO. Heaters are wear items and if the spa is older and the heater has never been replaced it might be a good investment.

This won't work if that plastic is polyethylene or polypropylene, but I recently used original JB Weld to fix a leaking crack on my flow switch.  You'd have to drain the water and let the part dry out, then apply and wait 24 hours.  So for me this has held for the 20psi pressure my pump/jets put out.
