Hi everyone! Glad to find this board. Hoping to get some advice from those more experienced than I. Recently purchased a home that has a relatively new Keys Backyard hot tub. We were out of town and had a pretty bad storm come through. The 75 mph winds pretty much destroyed the cover and ripped the straps from the stitching. Since the cover was blown 1000 feet down a mountain side its in need of replacement. My questions is, should I call Keys and get a replacement from them or should I go with a third party that can custom make one for me? I wasn’t too impressed with the tie downs or even the quality of the Keys and the replacement cost for the same thing was going to be over $400 (Quote from Keys Customer Service). Seems to me I could get a better quality cover with tie downs and locks where I think they should go...is that probably my best option? Any advice if you would go with a third party and if so, any particular recommendations? The house is in the mountains and prone to high winds...this was a freak storm, but I would rather not be buying new covers every few months...

I would talk to the good folks at Roberts hot tubs. They've got one of the best reps on line of any place. A decent cover will cost you a few hundred, but a quality one will last several years, and is key in insulating the tub.

We offer the Ideal Covers, because they don't have any competition on quality. I have looked many times talked with many spa cover factories, and none is better. We order them with 8 tiedowns for the winds in Colorado. Highest quality RKB vinyl, 2# hard foam, steel support, split skirt to protect the acrylic, heavy stitching. They are also one of the oldest cover companies. :)
