Hello, I'm trying to replace the heater for our 2009 limelight flair tub and I noticed the new heater has a nipple coming out the side of the heater where the limit and control sensors are located.  On the old heater, it looks like someone filled the hole with epoxy.  Wondering if it's safe to do the same on the new heater and if so, what should I use to fill it?

Photo of old heater epoxied connection attached as well of image of the new heater with the small nipple sticking out the rear.
