adding insulation

It was very mild here over the weekend and tub ran perfect.  We're expecting a colder period and it started last night.  Temperature dropped 5 degrees in the hot tub.  The insulation that is with the tub is in green garbage bag material that over time has deteriorated so it is probably not doing its job.  Is it advisable to use fiberglass insulation like you would use at home.  Although the hot tub is in a covered area, wind does get through to the bottom.  Thanks in advance... again.

75% from the top, 20% from the sides, and 5% from the bottom heat loss.

Just don't choke out the pump exhaust, and you will be fine.

Water logged covers loose their "R" value, so be aware of that.

Other than that, "Batting" insulation is great, and the bugs and other critters love it too.

(Shudder..)

And now Hr error...she's dead.  Ughhh.  Another $1,000

OUCH! get a space heater inside of it so it won't freeze before you can get it swapped out. Might be cheaper to retro fit a balboa system or a newer Gecko y series
