Breaker tripping

Recommended Posts

Evening, hope someone can help. We have a passion spa swim spa with a Balboa bp21 unit.

After a recent storm we noticed our spa was tripping the breaker. We believed that water may have gotten inside the spa. On inspection there was a little ground water but nothing substantial.

After researching we unplugged the heater and ozonator. The breaker still trips after about 3 minutes.

We then tried unplugging the circulation pump and the breaker did not trip. Having spoken to our supplier, they have said that it is rare for the circulation pump to trip the breaker.  No water from the storm appeared to get on the pump as it is slightly raised. It will be a few weeks before they can get someone out to look at it.

Would anyone have any ideas or simple fixes, short of replacing the pump (if that is even the cause)?

Many Thanks

Chris
