McGurk
Our spa was delivered early, and it's going to be a week or two before the electrician gets here to run power to our hot tub. Is it best to just leave it empty with the cover on? Or fill it with cold water? Our weather for the next 10 days is lows in the upper 40s/lower 50s and highs in the upper 60s/lower 70s. I've heard storing empty can be bad, but it's not for too long, and the weather is pretty mild. Let me know what you think, thanks!
Couch67
I'd probably fill it the day before you expect the electrician. If this is your first spa, have a look at the hot tub chemistry subforum, there are some great stickies for first time filling and balancing water . CanadianSpaTech
Don't fill until they are there. They might need to move the spa depending on space or where the wire is entering the spa. A new spa will be fine sitting empty. Once they start the electrical install and the spa is in final position you can start filling and it will be full by the time they have completed their work. Be sure to fill through the filter hole so you don't get an air lock in the pump wet end. Enjoy
