Tripper133
I purchased a Century motor (BM40SS) and connected it to my spa pack. The topside panel lights up and I can hear a click on the pack but the pump doesn’t come on. I tested the pump with an external power supply so I know the pump works. Leisure Bay Spa. CanadianSpaTech
Have you tested the pump fuses? Use a multi meter and test for power coming off the circuit board going to pump. If you have proper power coming off the board then the pump is the issue
Tripper133
Ok. Will test. Pump worked just before I put it in. The only thing that concerns me is that this does not have the external capacitors like the pump that came off of it did.
Tripper133
I went back and checked everything. The circuit board and the capacitor on the motor. I went so far as to wire it direct to a power outlet and everything checked out ok. I’m stumped about this one.
CanadianSpaTech
Did you test fuses? Did you test for power off the circuit board with the pump disconnected to make sure you have power coming off the circuit board where the pump connects? Tripper133
I tested all of the fuses and disconnected the power cord connection point on the circuit board. I got a 115 volt reading. What odd was that when I teated the connection point I got 115 Volts whether the button was pressed or not. This just doesn’t make logical sense to me. I can press the topside button and can hear the click sound on the circuit board.
