Oso Blanco
Hello folks I'm new to the spa world and this forum. I had a spa delivered recently and upon removal of protective packaging discovered a 4ft crack in the acrylic tub on the outside shoulder area, not in the water line area. Also noting some damage to skirting although no signs of it being dropped. I witnessed the unloading and placement of my spa and they wheeled it in on an adjacent side and did not drop. Therefore they did not break it. Called spa retailer about it and they say they can fix it. My question is to the seasoned spa owner's in here if it is worth the hassle of having an entirely new spa brought out because I didn't order a spa with a crack in it or should I let them fix it. My concerns are spa value if I would have to sell later, spa integrity both internal( circuitry, plumbing). Thanks in advance for your thoughts. I have seen nearly perfect acrylic repairs done by acrylic repair pros, but never by a spa tech, including myself. The manufacturer has the option to repair or replace, at their discretion, but you can sway the decision in many cases. I would ask for a new tub, and you use this one until it arrives.
CanadianSpaTech
Never should have been accepted in the first place and I would be asking for replacement. 2
