l33robbo
Hi peeps, I have the Canadian Spa Swift Current with the V1 PCU, works perfectly without issue BUT! There has been aluminium granules emitting from the heater port for a while which is obviously corrosion/degradation of the heater manifold. Question is... should I be concerned with possible electric shock if somehow the heater electrode is exposed? I'm not sure how the heater electrode sits in the manifold and if it's even possible for the resistive element to become exposed. 🤷♂️
CanadianSpaTech
This is why you have a often tested GFCI. You should hit the TEST button on it every now and then to well test it. it is there to protect you from electrical hazards.

Are you sure? 10 hours ago, l33robbo said: which is obviously corrosion/degradation of the heater manifold Most heater manifolds are stainless steel, not aluminum. Aluminum should not corrode in spa water. Do you have a salt cell or mineral stick? Describe and post pics of what is coming out. Post pics of heater, circuit board, and equipment area. Describe your chemical maintenance routine including chemicals used and a current water test done with a good test kit, not strips.

l33robbo
Sorry guys' not getting any notifications of responses. I'll check settings. In response to anyone not taking the p1ss... LOL. Yes I'm pretty sure it's aluminium granules (I'm a MechEng). It may be cheap but it's been churning away for years with only a couple of hickups. I check the Chlorine/PH/Alkalinity on a regular basis so no issues there. Just baffling where these granules are appearing from 🤪 The GFCI is working and I have tested it numerous times recently. CanadianSpaTech... with a name like that you would appear to be the expert on these things 🧐, have you ever heard of anything like this before? Sorry No... I have never worked on a one. I don't think you will find many Techs that have.
